Personal Development Will Explode Your Business
Your business will only grow to the level of your personal development.
You don’t get a business that makes a million dollars a month, you become the person capable of giving a million dollars in value to others.
The reframe of thinking we get things versus becoming a magnet strong enough to attract the things we want. That’s the game of character building, because it’s easy to think of what we could do if we tripled our revenue, but are you the person capable of handling the added stress, the added team members, the added everything?
Maybe you aren’t where you want to be, because you haven’t developed into the person capable of handling your dreams. That’s why personal development will explode your business, because as you grow, so will your business, as your capacity grows, so will your business.
With that said, here are the 4 actionable tips to accelerate your personal development journey.
1. Learn but do not dwell on the past
The mistake most people make when reflecting on their past, is they tend to dwell, tend to think, “what if I had done x”. They go down a rabbit hole of regret, self-pity, and the problem is, you can’t do a single thing about it. What you can do is say, “what can I learn from this moment, what could I take away, that if I applied to my future self, would prevent me from making this mistake again.”
2. Always remember your north star
Know where you are going, have clarity on the journey you are on. I have found that knowing where you are going, knowing who you are, allows you to more easily stay away from distractions that will pull you from your purpose. When you feel the pressure, you remember the why behind all that you do, and that gives you enough to keep moving forward.
3. Leverage the experience of others
The fools in life, they keep doing the same things over and over again while expecting something to change. The smart ones in life, they learn from their mistakes, they iterate, and they improve. The wise learn from their mistakes AND the mistakes from those around them.
4. It’s peace from mind, not peace of mind
The problem with being smart is that your mind is constantly thinking all the time, and it’s running and running and running. Sometimes what we need isn’t for our mind to stop, because that’s not easily obtainable, it’s peace from our mind, a calmness that allows us to rest, to think from a different angle.
